Setting a Variable Lock with a Minimum Duration

It is possible to create a variable lock that is almost guaranteed to run for a minimum duration, where you’re not able to reveal the required number of green card(s) until the minimum duration has passed.

In order to create a variable lock with a minimum duration you need to set the minimum number of red cards above 1 and for the minimum and maximum numbers to be different from each other.

If both the minimum and maximum numbers are the same it will treat the minimum duration as 1 hour or 1 day depending on the other options.

Here’s some examples for an hourly lock:

  • Setting the minimum and maximum with the values 5 and 10 will create a lock that has between 5 and 10 red cards and will last at least 5 hours. You will not find the green until the 5 hours have passed.
  • Setting the minimum and maximum with the values 1 and 10 will create a lock that has between 1 and 10 red cards and will last at least 1 hour. You will not find the green until the 1 hour has passed.
  • Setting the minimum and maximum with the values 10 will create a lock that has 10 red cards and will last at least 1 hour. You will not find the green until the 1 hour has passed. It doesn’t make sense to have the minimum duration set as 10 in this instance so it defaults to 1.
